To prevent guest room supplies from becoming depleted, physical inventories are taken every time a unit is to be occupied. Housekeeping reports replaces missing items from inventory supplied by property management. Since many of the items are billable, this process can reduce the cost of expenditures.

The maintenance of carpet and fabric-based items affects the true cleanliness of a unit more than any other element. The cleaning process can be compromised unless a system is in place to regularly remove the dust, odors, and foreign particles that can stay behind in carpet and fabric.
